Bridges to Kindness is a Cape Cod–based nonprofit supporting families affected by childhood cancer and autism. Through collaboration with local builders, sponsors, and volunteers, we design and donate custom-themed playhouses that bring comfort, imagination, and joy to children across our Cape Cod community.

Founded with one simple mission — to give back to the community — Bridges to Kindness focuses on enriching families navigating childhood illnesses and developmental challenges. Their flagship program brings together local builders, artists, sponsors, and volunteers to design and construct themed playhouses for children throughout Cape Cod and Massachusetts.
Each playhouse is crafted with care, safety, and sensory comfort in mind, providing children with a space where imagination meets healing.

Playhouses with Purpose
Together with Bridges to Kindness, our team at MacKenzie Brothers has had the privilege of designing and constructing custom-themed playhouses for children battling childhood cancer, autism, and other life-altering conditions.
Every playhouse begins with a child’s imagination. Whether it’s a princess castle, fire station, ice cream shop, sports arena, veterinarian’s office, or even a candy store, we listen to their dream and bring it to life with care and detail. Each playhouse is uniquely designed around the child’s personality and sensory needs. Families can request any theme imaginable, and our team brings it to life with safe, durable, sensory-friendly features.
From our carpenters’ workshop to a family’s backyard (or even an indoor space), each playhouse becomes a personal sanctuary—an escape where kids can laugh, play, and just be children.
A Community Effort
Our mission is to uplift local families through acts of generosity, compassion, and creativity. We collaborate with Cape Cod builders, craftspeople, and sponsors to design personalized playhouses that reflect each child’s dreams—from princess cottages and ice-cream shops to fire stations and sports dugouts. These projects are possible thanks to the dedication of our employees, who volunteer their time and talents to craft each playhouse with the same precision and pride we bring to our homes and custom builds. For us, it’s more than a project—it’s a chance to give back, to bring joy where it’s needed most, and to stand alongside families in our community with love and support.
